Nestled between olive groves and limestone ridges, the town of Grottaglie in the southern region of Italy is renowned for their pottery. For centuries, craftsmen have used the same caves to since the Byzantine era to source materials. In fact, Grottaglie is derived from the Latin “Cryptae Aliae”, which means many caves.
